Wildcats prepare for final regular season race at Bay College Invitational

After competing in the Lewis Crossover last weekend, the Northern Michigan University Wildcats are set to participate in the Bay College Invitational in Gladstone, Michigan. The event will take place on Friday, October 18, at noon and is hosted by Bay College. This race marks the last regular season competition for the Wildcats before they head to the GLIAC Championships next weekend.

Fans can follow updates on X (formerly known as Twitter) through @NMU_Track_Field and @NMU_Wildcats leading up to and during the race. Live results for the event are yet to be determined.

In their recent outing at the Lewis Crossover, NMU finished 23rd out of 36 teams. Gianna Hoving led the team with a time of 22:13.60, securing 52nd place. Dani VanLente followed with a time of 22:58.77, finishing in 111th position. Other notable performances included Emma Sweeney (23:20.22), Skylar Grubb (23:36.69), Celia Wallace (23:40.10), and Lamar Gordon (23:41.17), all achieving top-200 finishes among over 330 competitors.

The Wildcats last competed at the Bay College Invitational in 2017 when they placed first out of five teams. The team aims to leverage their roster depth for success ahead of next week's conference championship race.
