The Northern Michigan University Alpine Ski teams are set to compete in the USCSA Mt. La Crosse event in La Crosse, Wisconsin. This two-day competition will take place on February 3 and 4, 2024, marking the final event before the teams head to the USCSA Regionals.
Last year, both NMU men's and women's teams achieved success at this event. In women's slalom, Ella Wichert secured second place while Ainsley Kirk finished third. Kirk also took second in the women's giant slalom (GS), with Reagan Olli placing third. On the men's side, Aaron Grzelak won first place in slalom and Nathan Dehart came in third. Brad Seaborg claimed first place in the men's GS, with Grzelak finishing third.

Recently, NMU's Green and Gold teams participated in a successful outing at the USCSA Spirit Mountain event in Minnesota. The women's team dominated day one of the Giant Slalom by capturing all podium positions: Tommie Springer took first place, Reagan Olli was second, and Maddy Stern completed the podium with a third-place finish.
The men's team mirrored this performance by also taking all podium spots; Brad Seaborg won gold, Aaron Grzelak finished second, and Andrew Truman placed third. On day two of competition at Spirit Mountain, NMU continued its strong showing by securing five out of six podium places across categories and eleven out of twenty top-10 finishes overall. For women’s results that day: Olli led with a first-place finish followed closely by Wichert (second) and Kirk (third). In men’s results: Grzelak once again reached atop standings finishing first ahead Seaborg who claimed second position.
