Leo Nolles completes 100 meter freestyle in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

MARQUETTE, Mich. - Leo Nolles of the Northern Michigan University men's swim team competed in the 100 meter freestyle at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, completing his race with a time of 50.58.

The Maldonado, Uruguay native swam in the fourth heat at 5:17 A.M. eastern (11:17 A.M. local Paris time) this morning, July 30, 2024, finishing fourth in his heat and just 0.23 seconds behind the heat leader Nikolas Antoniou of Cyprus.

The top 16 of 79 times among all heats advanced to the semifinals, along with two reserve swimmers. Leo's time of 50.58 finished 47th, 2.17 seconds out of a qualifying spot held by Sunwoo Hwang (Republic of Korea) and 3.01 seconds off the leader Jack Alexy (United States).
