Brady Badker qualifies for Wisconsin Amateur Championship

Brady Badker of the Northern Michigan University men's golf team has qualified for the 123rd Wisconsin Amateur Championship. He secured his spot by finishing first with a score of -3 (69) in his Amateur Qualifying round at Reedsburg Country Club in Reedsburg, Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin State Golf Association (WSGA) selected seven qualifiers and two alternates from a pool of 56 golfers. Badker led the field in birdies with six, par four scoring at -1, and was second in total pars with 15, par five scoring at -3, and had the second fewest bogeys with three. The field's average score was 77.58, which Badker surpassed by eight strokes.

Badker started his round at +2 through the first five holes but made birdies on holes seven and eight to finish the front nine at even par 36. On the back nine, he opened with birdies on holes 10 and 11, followed by a bogey on the par three 12th hole. He then made additional birdies on holes 16 and 18 to record a back nine score of 33, the best in the field, ending at -3 overall.

The 123rd Wisconsin Amateur Championship will be held from July 15-18 at The Legend at Merrill Hills in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Further details can be found on the WSGA website.
