How many students were enrolled in Kaleva Norman Dickson School District in 2022-23 school year?

There were 539 students enrolled in Kaleva Norman Dickson School District in the 2022-23 school year, 0.7% more than the previous year, according to the Michigan Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.1% of them were girls, and 47.9% were boys.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 86.3% of the Kaleva Norman Dickson School District total enrollment.

Kaleva Norman Dickson School District covers three schools within Manistee County with its main office in Brethren. Among them, KND Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 289 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Overall student enrollment in Michigan remains below pre-pandemic levels, white students experiencing the largest decline at 6.5%.

Academic performance has also suffered, with the state's average NAEP score dropping by 6.5 points and ethnic achievement gaps widening. Black and Hispanic students' average math proficiency dropped by 7% in 2022, to 13.5% and 28.2%, respectively.
