How many students were enrolled in Frankfort-Elberta Area Schools in 2022-23 school year?

There were 477 students enrolled in Frankfort-Elberta Area Schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1.6% less than the previous year, according to the Michigan Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 53.5% of them were boys, and 46.5% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 89.9% of the Frankfort-Elberta Area Schools total enrollment.

Frankfort-Elberta Area Schools covers two schools within Benzie County with its main office in Frankfort. Among them, Frankfort Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 262 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Overall student enrollment in Michigan remains below pre-pandemic levels, white students experiencing the largest decline at 6.5%.

Academic performance has also suffered, with the state's average NAEP score dropping by 6.5 points and ethnic achievement gaps widening. Black and Hispanic students' average math proficiency dropped by 7% in 2022, to 13.5% and 28.2%, respectively.
