How many students were enrolled in Mio-AuSable Schools in 2022-23 school year?

There were 496 students enrolled in Mio-AuSable Schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1.2% more than the previous year, according to the Michigan Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 53.4% of them were boys, and 46.6% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 92.5% of the Mio-AuSable Schools total enrollment.

Mio-AuSable Schools covers two schools within Oscoda County with its main office in Mio. Among them, Mio AuSable High School recorded the highest enrollment of 268 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Overall student enrollment in Michigan remains below pre-pandemic levels, white students experiencing the largest decline at 6.5%.

Academic performance has also suffered, with the state's average NAEP score dropping by 6.5 points and ethnic achievement gaps widening. Black and Hispanic students' average math proficiency dropped by 7% in 2022, to 13.5% and 28.2%, respectively.
