Enrollment at Boyne City Public Schools increased by 1.1% compared to previous school year

There were 1,293 students enrolled in Boyne City Public Schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1.1% more than the previous year, according to the Michigan Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.4% of them were boys, and 49.6% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 91.8% of the Boyne City Public Schools total enrollment.

Boyne City Public Schools covers four schools within Charlevoix County with its main office in Boyne City. Among them, Boyne City High School recorded the highest enrollment of 450 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Overall student enrollment in Michigan remains below pre-pandemic levels, white students experiencing the largest decline at 6.5%.

Academic performance has also suffered, with the state's average NAEP score dropping by 6.5 points and ethnic achievement gaps widening. Black and Hispanic students' average math proficiency dropped by 7% in 2022, to 13.5% and 28.2%, respectively.
