The majority of students in Otsego County districts were white in the 2022-23 school year, according to the Michigan Department of Education.

Of the 3,455 students attending Otsego County district schools, 91.1% were white. Multiracial students were the second largest ethnic group among Otsego County's districts (3.8%).

In the previous school year, white students were still the most common group in Otsego County, representing 92.1% of the student body.

Gaylord Community Schools and Johannesburg-Lewiston Area Schools had the most diverse student body in the county, including African American, American Indian, Asian, Hawaiian, Hispanic, multiracial, and white.

In the 2022-23 school year, the total number of students enrolled in school districts in the county dropped 0.3% compared to the previous year.

The main offices of all districts mentioned in the story are located in cities associated with Otsego County.
