McBroom, Prestin, Markkanen to Host Energy Town Hall to Discuss Clean Energy Reforms

State Sen. Ed McBroom, Rep. Dave Prestin, and Rep. Greg Markkanen will be hosting a town hall meeting at Bay College in Escanaba on Tuesday, Dec. 19. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss recently signed energy reforms that will require Michigan to have a 100% clean energy standard by 2040.

The town hall meeting will be held at the Joseph Heirman University Center, Room 952, and will run from 5 to 7 p.m. with doors opening at 4 p.m. This event will provide an opportunity for residents to learn more about the new laws and express their concerns about the mandates. The legislators also aim to discuss the potential impact of these reforms on the Upper Peninsula's energy, environment, economy, property rights, and local governments.
