Rep. Jack Bergman has received a significant endorsement from several Michigan Republicans in his bid to become Speaker for the remainder of the 118th Congress. Reps. John James, Tim Walberg, Lisa McClain, and John Moolenaar have all expressed their support for Bergman's candidacy.

In a joint statement, the endorsing members stated, "General Jack Bergman is the leader best suited to right the ship of the Republican conference and help lead the House through the 118th Congress. Bergman's impressive background includes 40 years of service in the United States Marine Corps, where he retired at the rank of Lieutenant General. As the highest-ranking combat Veteran ever elected to the United States Congress, Bergman brings a unique outsider perspective to leadership in Washington. He has also demonstrated his ability to work with members from diverse backgrounds to build coalitions and pass meaningful legislation.

Among the endorsing members, Rep. John James serves on the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, House Foreign Affairs Committee, and the House Education & Workforce Committee. Rep. Lisa McClain holds a leadership role as the Republican Conference Secretary and serves alongside Rep. Bergman on the House Armed Services Committee and Budget Committee. She also serves on the Committee on Education and the Workforce. Rep. John Moolenaar serves on the House Committee on Appropriations. Lastly, Rep. Tim Walberg, often referred to as Michigan's "Dean," is a member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and the House Committee on Education and the Workforce.
