Representative Jack Bergman (R-MI) criticized the Biden Administration for its handling of the recent attacks on Israel in a radio interview. He highlighted the failures of the administration, including the $6 billion prisoner exchange funds for Iran and the lack of response to Qatar's involvement in money-funneling.
Bergman expressed his concern over the message sent by Iran and Hamas, stating, "The message that Iran and Hamas basically sent, and have always sent, is 'it's our way or the highway'. They don't recognize Israel...and the hatred there drives the message." He also pointed out the role of Qatar in enabling Iran and Hamas, saying, "The Biden Administration has allowed Qatar to play kind of a behind-the-scenes middleman role on the banking and all of the transfer of funds – that $6 Billion – and there is worse than nefarious activity on the part of the Qatari banks."
In addition, Bergman condemned the antisemitic rhetoric from some members of Congress and emphasized the importance of prioritizing the interests of the American people. He stated, "Those in the House of Representatives who choose to be mouthpieces for agents of this violence shouldn't be elected, as everyone who serves in Congress must put the best interests of the American people first."
Bergman also stressed the need for the United States to focus on its own defense and support the defense of its allies. He said, "We as the United States need to do two things: prepare for our own defense and number two – to help the defense of others who are our allies who are at risk of a closer threat, as we're seeing in Israel right now."
The interview provides insight into the criticisms of the Biden Administration's handling of the Israel attacks, highlighting the perceived failures in foreign policy and the need for a stronger response.
