City of Boyne City | Free CCO Credit

Two seats on the five-member City Commission will be up for election for four-year terms this year. To be included in the ballot , candidates must file a petition with the City Clerk by 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2023. If there are more than four qualified nominees, there will be a Primary Election held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. If there are four or less qualified nominees, a Primary Election will not be held. The General Election will be Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

Petitions for each candidate must be signed by not less than 20 nor more than 40 registered voters in the city. Candidates must also file an Affidavit of Identity.

Criteria for candidates:

> Shall have been a resident of the City for at least one year.

> Shall not have been convicted of a felony.

> Is a qualified and registered elector of the City.

 Shall not be in default to the City.
