“DNR crews from Gaylord and Harrietta joined our wastewater operators this morning, braving the wind and rain, to conduct the fall fish harvest from the walleye pond. The high winds kept the boat on the shore so all of the nets had to be hand pulled from the banks. There were hundreds of thousands of fish in the nets, but all the wrong species. Fathead minnows-yes. Walleye-no. Some of the minnows were taken to ponds today to feed other fish. The rest will spend the winter in our pond waiting for next year’s arrival of more walleye.”
