The City of Rockford has an open position in our Public Services Department for a General Laborer, Utility Worker I & II.
General Laborer, Utility Worker I, and Utility Worker II range from entry to mid-level classes based on various skills and licensing. Under the indirect supervision of the Department of Public Services (DPS) Director and the direct supervision of the DPS Supervisor, incumbents learn and perform a variety of unskilled, semi-skilled, and skilled duties. Skills include but are not limited to construction, maintenance, and repair of the City's water distribution and wastewater collection systems, streets, and storm drains, along with all related and unrelated city facilities and grounds.
