City of Boyne City issued the following announcement on Mar 16.
Everyone is invited to attend this month’s meeting of Team Boyne at 9 a.m. Friday in the Boyne District Library Community Room. Our entrepreneur guest will be Asuka Barden and possibly her father Paul Barden, who are celebrating the 100th anniversary of Barden Lumber. We want to know what it takes to stay relevant and profitable for all of those decades.
This picture shows Mayor Hugh Conklin presenting Paul and Asuka a Certificate of Recognition and Congratulations at the March 8th Boyne City City Commission meeting. The certificate said: "The City of Boyne City would like to recognize the Barden family for one hundred years supplying building materials for countless homes in Boyne City and beyond. Your family’s commitment to operating a first-class business and dedication to the community has continued through the generations. On behalf of the City Commission and the citizens of Boyne City, congratulations on your 100-year anniversary, and we look forward to celebrating many more anniversaries, continued generations, and years of success building Boyne City, one board at a time!"
