Monroe County Community College issued the following announcement on Feb 28.
Monroe County Community College has extended the deadline for nominations for the 2021 MCCC Alumnus of the Year Award to March 15. Nominations were originally due Feb. 1.
The Alumnus of the Year Award was established by the MCCC Board of Trustees in 1996 to recognize and honor an outstanding alumnus who has made contributions to his or her career, community and the college. Individuals eligible to receive the award include past and/or present students who have earned 24 credit hours or more or past and/or present students who have graduated from MCCC.
Nominations for this award may be submitted by past and/or present students who have earned 24 credit hours or more or past and/or present students who have graduated from MCCC, past or present MCCC faculty and staff, and the MCCC Board of Trustees. The nomination form can be found at https://www.monroeccc.edu/alumni/alumnus-of-the-year.
The college is also seeking nominations for the College Supporter of the Year Award, which is presented annually by the Board of Trustees. Criteria considered includes: general support for the college and its programs, volunteer work that supports the college, substantial financial and/or equipment contributions to the college, substantial scholarship donations, and/or extensive participation on college advisory, standing or ad hoc committees. Nominations for this award may be submitted by MCCC faculty and staff and the MCCC Board of Trustees. Nominations are due to the President’s Office by March 15.
