City of Taylor issued the following announcement on Feb 27.
The Taylor Summer Festival is scheduled for June 23-26 in Heritage Park, and concert tickets are already on sale for the rock show on Friday, June 24, featuring Stephen Pearcy, the Voice of RATT, with special guest Slaughter.
Tickets for the Saturday. June 25, country show featuring Dylan Scott with guests The Family Tradition Band and the Cody Boggs Band will go on sale beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, March 4. June 25 will be the festival’s annual fireworks night.
Ticket prices for each concert are $20 advance and $25 at the gate (featured stage-front seating), and $10 advance and $15 at the gate for general admission, standing room only. Advance ticket links are available online at www.taylorfestival.com.
Parking at reasonable prices will be located both inside and outside Heritage Park, located on Northline Road between Telegraph and Allen roads.
Stephen Pearcy/RATT, Slaughter and Dylan Scott join a long list of outstanding concerts to be featured during recent Taylor Summer Festivals. Others to appear during the past decade include LOCASH, Chris Bandi, Cinderella’s Tom Keifer, Starship, the late Tony Lewis of the Outfield, Loverboy, Warrant, Sebastian Bach, Everclear, The Romantics and Phil Vassar.
RATT’s brash, melodic heavy metal sound made the original Los Angeles quintet one of the most popular rock outfits of the mid-1980s. The group had been an evolution of the 1970s group (Mickey Ratt), featuring vocalist Pearcy, guitarists Robbin Crosby and Warren DeMartini, bassist Juan Croucier and drummer Bobby Blotzer. Their first album, 1984’s Out of the Cellar, was a major success. A single from that album, “Round and Round,” hit No. 12.
Their success led to a second album, Invasion of Your Privacy, and launched the group as not only a touring success, but a regular on MTV or AOR radio. Subsequent albums Dancin’ Undercover and Reach for the Sky continued the platinum streak. Eventually Pearcy left the group to front bands like Arcade, Vicious Delite and Nitronic. Pearcy eventually returned to RATT in 2010 for the group’s seventh full-length album, Infestation. Throughout RATT’s nearly four decades of success with Pearcy at its helm, they released eight albums and played thousands of shows worldwide all the while selling over 20 million records.
Slaughter originated in Las Vegas, led by lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Mark Slaughter and bass player Dana Strum. The band reached star status in 1990 with their first album, Stick It to Ya, That offered plenty of hit singles: “Up All Night,” “Spend My Life,” “Mad About You,” and “Fly to the Angels.” Other members of the original cast were Tim Kelly (guitar) and Blas Elias (drums).
Unlike many other bands of that era, Slaughter remained intact and continued to produce new records against the wave of the alternative music movement. They released The Wild Life that included platinum single “Real Love” in 1992. “Fear No Evil” came in 1995. In 1997, Slaughter released the more eclectic and psychedelic album, Revolution. Despite Kelly’s 1998 death in a car accident, the band vowed to remain together and continue on. Those efforts led to “Back to Reality,” and eventually they toured with the likes of Ted Nugent, Night Ranger, Poison, Cinderella, Dokken, Vince Neil of Motley Crue, Vixen … and RATT.

He released a seven-song EP honoring legendary singer/songwriter Keith Whitley with An Old Memory (A Keith Whitley Tribute).
