Alpena County Library issued the following announcement on Feb 9.
Join arts advocate Mitchel Dipzinski as he discusses his poetry installation, Blueberry Jam, at Art in the Loft this Friday, February 11 at 6:00pm. Made from a collection of five erasure poems, this piece highlights the ever present and dangerous rhetoric that surfaced at Board of Education meetings and within schools in Alpena and across the state. The evening is about engaging with the discomfort this rhetoric causes and will host a community discussion and call to action.
