City of Brighton recently issued the following announcement.
I-96 and Grand River Bridge Work
Starting Monday, January 31 from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, Monday-Friday, weather permitting, MDOT’s contractor will be installing temporary supports under the I-96 bridge on Grand River in Brighton. The installation of temporary supports will take about two weeks in total, and it will require the closure of one traffic lane on both eastbound and westbound Grand River Avenue. They will also be working on Saturday, January 29 from 7 am to 5 pm.
For eastbound Grand River, the closure will begin prior to Hilton Rd and for westbound Grand River, the closure will start before the eastbound I-96 ramp. Additionally, the westbound I-96 ramp to eastbound Grand River will be reduced to a single lane.
When traveling in this area, please drive carefully and obey all construction signage for the safety of yourself, other drivers, and the on-site crews.
