Asian/Pacific American Awards for Literature

Alpena County Library recently issued the following announcement.

The Asian/Pacific American Awards for Literature are awarded to creators of books that celebrate Asian/Pacific American culture and heritage. Youth categories include picture book, children’s literature, and young adult literature! 

Check out these excellent 2022 winners:

Picture Book Winner: Watercress by Andrea Wang, illus. by Jason Chin (Neal Porter/Holiday House)

Children’s Winner: Amina’s Song by Hena Khan (Salaam Reads/Simon)

Youth Winner: Last Night at the Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo (Dutton/Penguin)

Picture Book Honor: A Boy Named Isamu: A Story of Isamu Noguchi by James Young (Viking/Penguin)

Children’s Honor: Finding Junie Kim by Ellen Oh (Harper)

Youth Honor: We Are Not Free by Tracie Chee (Clarion/Harper)
