Boyne City Public Schools issued the following announcement on Dec 23.
Our BCMS 5th-grade students thought that instead of doing a traditional gift exchange amongst their classmates, they could instead bring in donations to our local Charlevoix Humane Society. Classes were able to donate almost 250 needed items that were suggested by Humane Society staff!
Students really showed their generosity and love of animals by bringing in so many items. Students who brought in the most items were able to take a tour of the facility and spend some time with the cats and dogs available for adoption. This experience showed students the importance of giving rather than receiving.
