Alpena County Library issued the following announcement on Dec 23.
Did you know that our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program is now available as a challenge in Beanstack? This early literacy challenge, open to all children ages 0 to 5, helps build the foundation for a lifelong love of reading by allowing participants to meet incremental goals while reading at their own pace, rereading favorite titles and exploring new titles as they go. Prizes are earned for every 100 books read, with a certificate and tote of goodies being awarded upon the completion of 1,000 books.

If you prefer to receive paper materials, rather than participating online, stop into the Youth Department or email sgrochowski@alpenalibrary.org to request a paper version of the challenge.
