City of Taylor issued the following announcement on Dec 2.
The City of Taylor Inauguration and the 2021 Winterfest Parade and tree lighting are now being re-cablecast on the community’s municipal access channels on Comcast and Wow.
The inauguration, originally held on Wednesday, November 10, is being shown at 11 p.m. Fridays, 5:30 p.m. Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays. The hour-long cablecast features the inauguration address of new Mayor Tim Woolley, who is the eighth man in the City of Taylor’s history to hold the office.
Also featured are the swearing in ceremonies of City Clerk Cindy Bower, Treasurer Michelle Tocco, and City Council members Doug Geiss, Jill Brandana, Angie Winton, Butch Ramik, Charley Johnson, Lindsey Rose and Ira Slaven. Geiss was sworn in by his wife, State Senator Erika Geiss, while Ira Slaven was sworn in by his son, District Court Judge Joseph Slaven. There are some special moments throughout the ceremony.
The Winterfest, which was held on Saturday, November 27, is being shown at 10:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8:12 Fridays, 3:30 p.m. Saturdays, 11:30 p.m. Sundays and 11 p.m. Tuesdays.
The Winterfest featured a parade marching from the Taylor Recreation Center to Heritage Park; Mayor Woolley and Santa and Mrs. Claus lighting up the official holiday tree in the Sheridan Center Open Air Pavilion; and fireworks. Hundreds of people braved the cold temperatures and snowfall to participate.
