City of Taylor issued the following announcement on Oct 19.
Wayne County has announced a new pilot voucher program to provide household hazardous waste and recycling services to residents. The City of Taylor has a limited number of these vouchers for direct distribution to residents. All you need to do is stop off at City Hall (Goddard Road and Pine Street) and pick one up to participate in the program.
The voucher allows you to drop off hazardous waste at ERG Environmental Services, 13040 Merriman Road, Livonia. ERG is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Acceptable hazardous waste includes items like household paints, stains and dyes; floor was and floor care products; furniture polish and bathroom cleaners; non-controlled pharmaceutical waste; glue; and fertilizer, and other items (see flyer).
The coupons are offered on a limited basis. Residents can pick up per household at Customer Service Center in City Hall from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Residents can also request vouchers directly from Wayne County by calling (734) 326-5708 or emailing ESGHelp@waynecounty.com.
Wayne County had previously held regular hazardous waste collections at different sites, up to four annually. However, those collections were postponed during the pandemic in 2020, and have not been rescheduled since that point
