Atlanta Community Schools issued the following announcement on Sept 18.
Our guest speaker, Tony Hoffman, made such an impact on our students today. His inspirational story of drug addiction, mental health struggles, and prison to sobriety, professional BMX rider to coaching for the Olympics left the students speechless. Tony encouraged students to find their gift and take joy in sharing it. To push themselves to try hard each day. Reach out for help when they need it and to help others when they can. There is no shame in asking for help and there are lots of people all around them that will help. This past year and a half has been hard on all of us and our kids have been impacted more than we realize.We need to really listen to what our kids are saying and support all their needs.
