Walled Lake Consolidated Schools issued the following announcement.
Walled Lake Central teachers Shanell Eastman, and Renee Dorfman led National Honor Society students in organizing a successful food drive for the community.
The one day drive took place on Saturday, Nov. 21, at WLC high school. With support from the community, student volunteers were able to collect many items for the Student
Pantry and Hospitality House Food Pantry.
The Hospitality House Food Pantry received 3,000 pounds of food, 100 rolls of toilet paper, and a $1,620 donation.
The Student Pantry received over 100 essential item kits, which included toilet paper, paper
towel, toiletries, canned fruit, protein, and birthday celebration packages, in addition to a $1,310 donation.
Dorfman said, "A big thank you to our community! Their generosity will make such a difference to many families in need during this very difficult time."
