Republican House Candidate John Roth has won the race for House District 104, defeating Democtratic opponent Dan O’Neil..
Roth expressed gratitude in a statement posted on his Facebook page on Nov. 4.
“What a great honor it is to be given the opportunity to represent Grand Traverse County in Lansing. It was a long night, but early this morning some of the last AV’s came in giving us the win! It is humbling to have so many good people supporting our team. I will work hard to represent all of the people of Grand Traverse County whether you voted for me or my opponent. Thank you!”
O’Neil also took to Facebook to thank his supporters.
“Although we fell short last night, I couldn't be prouder of the campaign we ran and the people that made it happen. I had the best staff any candidate could ask for and I will be forever indebted to all of you who gave so generously of your time, energy and resources. While being on the short end is never easy, I truly believe that there are now more people who believe change is possible if we are willing to work for it. In that regard our campaign was a great success. Thank you all.”
