City of Manistee issued the following announcement on Sept. 15
The City of Manistee Water Department will be draining the Maywood Water Tower for general maintenance and inspection. To accomplish the contractor’s work, the water tank will be drained, beginning Monday, September 21, 2020. This will change water flow patterns within the City and will likely create periods of rusty water. Fire Hydrants throughout the City water system are flushed during the spring and beginning in the fall to reduce the rusty water impacts. Work is expected to be completed by the September 25, 2020.
