City of Manistee issued the following announcement on Sept. 4
Contractors have been working throughout the City this summer to rehabilitate sanitary sewers. There are nearly 100 manholes and five miles of sewer mains being upgraded as part of the City’s Wet Weather Corrective Action Program.
On Tuesday, September 8, 2020, contractors will be closing the northbound and southbound center lanes of US-31 to traffic between First Street and Ninth Street. Nine sanitary sewer mains will be upgraded along with their connecting manholes. The construction is expected to be completed by the end of September and was scheduled to avoid the heavy traffics flows during the summer.
