The Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan grant to Alpena Childcare and Development Center is being put to use.
The Foundation shared a recent Facebook post of a new outdoor infant play area, with little ones taking full advantage of the new construction.
As of the end of June, the Foundation has awarded $119,102 in grants, its website reported. It also has more than $159 million in gifts committed.
The Foundation’s mission is “to fulfill the charitable goals of our donors and address the current and future needs of our communities,” the website said.
Alpena Childcare and Development Center offers six different programs for various age groups: Dreamers for children 0-12 months of age, Cruisers for 1-2 years of age, Little Explorers for 2-3 years, Adventure Academy for 3-4 years, Navigators for 4-5 years, and School Age Programs for 5-11 years. Children ages 5-11 can also take advantage of an available summer program.
