Alanson Public School issued the following announcement on May 19
Congratulations to our 2 seniors, Lance Stonhouse and Greg Erwin, for winning the scholarships listed below! We are so proud of them!
The Thomas Dale Sr. Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation was established in 2005 to benefit students of Alanson Public School. Following his military service in World War II, Tom Dale taught for many years at Alanson Public School where he assumed many positions including teacher, basketball coach, band director, principal, and finally superintendent. The scholarship, in the amount of $500, is awarded to Lance Stonhouse.
The Baiardi Family Foundation Scholarship Fund at the Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation was established in 2003 by the trustees of the Baiardi Family Foundation. In 2011, the family committed to providing additional scholarship opportunities to high school students from Alanson Public Schools. The purpose of the fund is to aid graduates in pursuing their education at a Community College in the coming fall. The $1,500 scholarship is awarded to Greg Erwin.
