State Rep. Cam Cavitt is encouraging small businesses impacted by the lack of snow this winter to apply for federal funding through the Small Business Administration (SBA). Cavitt emphasized the availability of Federal Economic Injury Disaster Loans for businesses in 42 Michigan counties, including those represented by him - Cheboygan, Presque Isle, Montmorency, Alpena, Alcona, and Oscoda.

Speaking on the matter, Cavitt highlighted the challenges faced by various small businesses, specifically mentioning snowplow companies. He stated, "So many unique small businesses were affected by the lack of snow this year. No one ever talks about the snowplow companies... Those who were expecting income this winter that they didn’t even come close to earning." Cavitt expressed his readiness to support individuals through the relief application process and provided his office contact information for assistance.

For further details on the SBA loans, businesses are advised to reach out to the SBA Disaster Assistance Customer Service Center either by phone at 800-659-2955 or by email at [email protected].

Cavitt's proactive approach in urging small businesses to explore federal funding opportunities underscores the importance of supporting enterprises impacted by unforeseen circumstances like the current winter weather conditions.
